- A look at the operations & control Centre System by ICONICS UK-
Dublin, October 4th

The ceremony reflects the value that indigenous companies from both the services and manufacturing sectors place on their employees and their human resource practices.

The Instrumentation, Systems and Automation society (ISA) Ireland section will be kick-starting its new season of technical meetings next week with two talks by Dataworks' partner 'ICONICS UK'. The one hour long evening presentation will be taking place at Bewley's Hotel in Leopardstown, Dublin, on the 4th of October at 7pm and will be repeated the next day, on the 5th of October in Cork's Rochestown Park Hotel at 8pm.

The presentation will consist of a short overview of the Heathrow Terminal 5 project, followed by a look at the operations & control system and then focusing on ICONICS' involvement in the project, which lies in the control software arena, with a simulation of the system showing what happens from arrival to departure of an Aircraft at Heatrow's T5. The technical presentation will be followed by a Q&A session and complimentary tea/coffee. No registration is required and the event is free for all to attend.

On September 7th, the Automation Research Centre (Ireland's PROFIBUS Competency Centre -PCC) in Co-Operation with Enterprise Ireland hosted a one-day seminar on automation technologies. The seminar theme, “ holistic approach to automation “ aimed at a total automation approach covering both manufacturing and back office automation.

Global markets and the Eastern enlargement of the EU have increased the pressure on SMEs to become even more competitive. The enormous wage differential cannot be compensated without added value to the product at source. Automation and innovation play a major role in this respect. Pictured here is Brian Robinson of Dataworks Ltd sharing his experience in 'holistic approach to automation' - showing how the gap between business IT and the shop floor is being filled by Dataworks for its customers.
