On
September 7th, the Automation Research Centre (Ireland's
PROFIBUS Competency Centre -PCC) in Co-Operation with
Enterprise Ireland hosted a one-day seminar on automation
technologies. The seminar theme, “ holistic
approach to automation “ aimed at a total
automation approach covering both manufacturing and
back office automation.
Global
markets and the Eastern enlargement of the EU have increased
the pressure on SMEs to become even more competitive.
The enormous wage differential cannot be compensated
without added value to the product at source. Automation
and innovation play a major role in this respect.
Pictured here is Brian Robinson of Dataworks Ltd sharing
his experience in 'holistic approach to automation'
- showing how the gap between business IT and the shop
floor is being filled by Dataworks for its customers.
